* This restaurant is no longer in business.*
I got this last minute invitation from Criz, to have a food review at JL Steamboat, Nagore Place. I reached there around 7pm. Luckily I got my self a parking lot. JL Steamboat is located just beside the Sugar Dynasty Food Delight.

The worker is preparing the food for customers.

All the raw food that you can get it from the counter. There are more than 100 of items for you to choose from, according to the owner.

All the balls…… Meat balls and Fish balls!

Seafood.

Fish noodles and fried yam.

Minced pork, Enokitake Japanese Mushrooms and some fish balls.

Mushrooms.

Like other steamboat restaurant, JL Steamboat also prepared the cooked food for customers to have it while waiting on the steamboat ingredients to be cooked. The fired rice tastes normal while the fried noodle is good.

The nuggets are crispy from the outside. But the filling was a bit too soft until it seems to be not fresh. I like the fried chicken though. I think I have 2 or 3. Nice!

Here comes the most important ingredient for the steamboat, the soup. JL Steamboat has 4 different kind of soups: Fish, Chicken, Tom Yam and Herbs. We have the chance to taste all 4 of them. The first 2 we tried is the chicken and fish. The fish soup was too salty. It becomes more and more salty when the soup is lesser in the pot. The chicken soup is OK, normal.

I tired to taste the tom yam before we put in any ingredients. It tastes spicy and sour. The taste becomes different when you have ingredients inside. It was not that spicy anymore. For the herb, it seems to be not thick enough.

Time to eat. Yipee.

Teppanyaki food. Ham, beef, chicken and squid.

Prawns and Pandan leaf chicken.

Stingray.

Tofu. This is nice! I ate quite a lot.

Kembung Fish. I never tried this. It seems like the fish was not clean thoroughly since the meat which was near to the stomach was

Cannot think of the name of these sticks. The owner made it for our photo taking purpose.

Mixture of the Teppanyaki food.

Another special thing in JL Steamboat, they provide so many sauces.

For the dessert, it was the red bean soup. I assume. None of us trying this. We missed out!!!

Here is the most awaiting dessert, ice cream. There are a total of 5 flavors.

Fruits and Jelly.

Chocolate Fountain! I hope I have one of this in my house! Hahaha.

Yummy Yummy.

Banner and poster on the daily lunch set and price list.

Decoration on the cashier counter. I have no idea why they are using the beer bottle as a decoration. Hmmm……

However, this cat is cute.

Surrounding.

Lighting. I like this photo. 🙂 The lighting is a bit dark for those who want to take photos on the food, like us. For normal diners, it is perfect.

Oh… I forgot to mention. JL Steamboat is using the switch to control the power of the steamboat. Just press the button will do. By the way, our table is number 6.

A reminder to all, do bring more coins for the parking machine by the road side, if you plan to park your car there. You need to feed the machine from 9am until 12 midnight! Can you imagine this? This is the first time I saw a roadside parking machine charge you until 12 midnight. How ridiculous!
Overall, the food is good, just some improvement is needed. The teppanyaki is great, especially the tofu. Very nice. I like the chocolate fountain and ice cream too. For the ice cream topping, it will be great if there are flaked peanuts and almonds or even raisins.
JL Steamboat is a nice place for you to have gathering with your friends or family while having all the nice food. It is fully equip with air conditioning. for more information, you can visit JL steamboat website at www.jlsteamboat.com.

I waited for so long and at last I saw someone posted it up. Thanks. Why steamboat got so many grilled food one? *puzzled*
**clap clap clap** Finally you are the first one to post up a review. LOL!! I’m still struggling here with the extremely slow snail connection here. It took me ages to upload photos and most of the time it hung!! Stupid ISP!! What 1Mbps speed? It acted like a 384kbps slow.. haha. Anyway, I will post up soon when I get things settled here.
I kind of enjoyed that we don’t have to grill on our own!! save time and energy 😛
(guess I’m going to be the last..was thinking of letting it being staggered/distributed instead of all posting at once!)
