Greetings from E&O Hotel! For the coming Chinese New Year, E&O Hotel is having 2 dining options: Chinese New Year Steamboat Buffet Dinner and Gong Xi Fa Chai Buffet Dinner.
Chinese New Year Steamboat Buffet Dinner will be available at Sarkies Corner from 7 February to 9 February, 7pm-10.30pm, priced at RM88 nett for adult and RM44 nett for child. Limited seats available with maximum of 80 pax only.
There are 3 types of Broths to choose from among the three: Chicken, Tom Yam and Herbal. Chicken one has the sweetness from the chicken, Tom Yam broth is a bit spicy, but I like it, it is very appetizing. However I would not recommend to those who cannot take spicy. For the Herbal broth, it has a strong herbal taste. People who like herbal will like this broth a lot.
Sauces: Homemade Special Chili Sauce, Coriander Oyster Garlic Sauce, White Radish Spicy Sauce, Sweet Sauce, Tomato Sauce, Chili Sauce, Peanut Sauce, Cut Red Chili, Chopped Garlic, Chinese Parsley, Garlic Oil, Dark Soy Sauce, Light Soy Sauce.

E&O Roasted Duck
Lotus Rice with Chicken Meat and Mushroom
Braised Soya Chicken with Black Mushroom

Overall, for Chinese New Year Steamboat Buffet Dinner, among the 3 broths provided, I prefer the Tom Yam base as I like something spicy. Chicken and the Herbal base broths are good too! It will be nice if there is an option to have 2 broths at the same time. For the steamboat ingredients, there are a lot of choices. You can take whatever you want from vegetables to meat and seafood. Remember to save some space for the desserts, Red Bean Glutinous Rice Ball Soup and Festive Cookies are my pick.
For Gong Xi Fa Chai Buffet Dinner, it is like a 8 course dinner to me, just that you can keep on getting the food from the buffet spread as long as you are still hungry! The Sea Treasure Seafood Soup, Individual Steamed Herbal Soup, E&O Roasted Duck, Red Bean Soup with Glutinous Rice Ball and Chinese Pancake are those I like the most. Of course, don’t forget the Yee Sang as well.
