I Mum Mum Restaurant @ Penang PDC Flats

As you drive through Jelutong Express Way heading to Jetty, you will see one sign board on the shop lot on your left hand side, I Mum Mum Pan Mee Restaurant. I went through this a lot of time when I stopped at the traffic light, but I never bother to go and search for it. Until one day, my friend asked me to go and try it out.

On the first traffic light along the Jelutong Express Way, turn right. Just after the right turn, turn left and you will be surrounded by all the flats. Just look for the parking lot and park you car. If you have no idea where is the shop, no worry. There are a few sign boards on guiding you to locate the restaurant.  Below is one of them. See the arrow?

The menu looks simple. You can choose among the 5 Pan Mee:

Pan Mee Soup, Pan Mee Dry, Spicy Pan Mee, Minced Pork Pan Mee with Special Sauce and Crispy Pork Pan Mee.

The price is from Rm2.80 to RM4.00. For the Pan Mee, you also have 3 choices: thin, thick or square. Additional items to add on are available as well.

For the drink, we ordered the Ice Herbal Tea.

Minced Pork Pan Mee with Special Sauce.
It looks nice, lots of ingredients.

Crispy Pork Pan Mee
My friend said this is very nice. I will try this on my next visit.

Spicy Pan Mee
I ordered this. To me, it is not spicy enough. I like the meatballs that come with this order.

See, even students are eating over here.

There is one orchid plant on the counter. Not sure is it real or fake. It looks fake to me though.

Overall, the Pan Mee is special if compare to the one in BJ. There are 5 choices and not only the soup and dry version. Cleanliness wise, I prefer I Mum Mum Restaurant. You can judge by yourself. For the Pan Mee, the one in BJ put too much of the dark soy sauce. I don’t like. Bottom line, we have one more place to dine if comes to Pan Mee, which is good for all the Pan Mee lovers.

  2. Thanks for sharing! I”m a great fan for pan mee! Will definitely try this out. I’d luv to try out the spicy pan mee! Btw, how’s the pan mee texture? QQ enough?

  3. Nice photos of the pan mee! They look so delicious! Would love to order the spicy pan mee. Simple menus are good, don’t have to take a long time to think of what to eat. Haha!

  4. Bee,
You can see the sign board in between the first and second traffic light. It’s on your left, if you are heading to the jetty.

    Allie,
To me, the pan mee is not bad. You can go try it out and let me know how you feel about it.

    Sugar Bean,
Agree with you. Thanks for dropping by.

    Mary,
    Ya, I saw her post.

    NKOTB,
Find one day and go try it out.

  5. Mimid3vils,
I have no idea on the sauce. I never order that. I will try that out for my next visit. Then only I can tell you what is that. 🙂

    Cariso,
    Yes lo, black black.

    Rebecca,
    Yes, a lot of ingredients.

    My Taste Heaven,
Obviously it looks much more better if compare to the BJ one.

  6. CK,
Easy to find. If cannot find the place, let me know or call the boss. 🙂

    J2Kfm,
Hmmmm, maybe you will change after you tried this one. Hehe.

    Big Boys Oven,
Thanks. Your photos also nicely taken too at your site.

  7. The pan mee looks far nicer than the one in BJ. Finally I can see the “square” (hand-tear) version of the pan mee. In Malacca it is called “mee hun kuih”. Really miss it.

  8. congrats to the boss of I MUM MUM…u makes us penangites well known for ur special pan mee..keep it up!!!
