I went to Queensbay last Tuesday. Before I went back home, I passed through Wong Kok Char Chan Teng which is located at the basement. After much consideration (Ya, I need to think before I buy because I am getting fat recently), I made my decision to buy some pastry in the end. I just cannot control myself. I bought the Polo Bun and Char Siew Bun (Honey Roasted Pork Bun).
There are 2 types of Polo Bun: with custard or with butter. I bought one each. 🙂
Polo Bun with Butter is also called Por Lor Yau. Por Lor is actually in Cantonese, means Pineapple. Por Lor Yau means Buttered Pineapple Bun. The Polo Bun is filled with butter in the center.
The best part is the top of the Polo Bun. It’s crispy! I just love it. Thumbs Up!!
Another type of Polo Bun is filled with custard. The custard is a bit tasteless. Luckily, Polo Bun has the top part to make it tasty, if not, it is not nice at all.
How is the Char Siew Bun? I will let you know in the next post.
The Polo Bun with butter has always been one of my favourite snack from Wong Kok…do try out their char siew soh.

I have always like their Butter Bun. It’s better that you take it fresh too. I have tried leaving it for my breakfast the next day and it got kind of soggy.
