I went to Juru Auto City with 2 of my friends 4 months ago for one of my friends’ belated birthday. Her birthday was in May. Since 3 of us were busy on different time, we have no choice to postpone the birthday celebration one month later. My friend suggested we went for the Szechuan super hot steamboat (Ma La Steamboat) in Jiu Jiu Szechuan Restaurant.
We ordered the steamboat for 2 persons although we have 3. We scared we cannot finish the food.
It comes with 2 soups: one with super duper hot and another one with the Chinese ingredients: red dates, wolf berries and some Chinese herbs.
As you can see, the Ma La soup was full of chilies, peppers and spices. For those who cannot eat spicy food, this will definitely scared them out!
The steamboat ingredients include fishes, prawns, squids, meats, potatoes slices, lotus roots, fish balls, toufu, vegetables, mushrooms, wood ears, dumplings and noodles.
The super hot soup was really fantastic. It was so hot until I sweated and my tongue became numb after eating, but I just like it. I only tested a little bit on the Chinese ingredients soup. I prefer the hot and spicy! 🙂
After the steamboat, we ordered some desserts, Szechuan ‘Lai Tang Yuan’ and Donkey Roll.
Szechuan ‘Lai Tang Yuan’ was really yummy. There are wolf berries in the soup as well.
The Tang Yuan is filled with black sesame. The skin of the Tang Yuan was thin and the black sesame was a lot. Oh…… I like black sesame filling Tang Yuan. It is a must try dessert.
Donkey Roll. If you see the name in the menu without looking at the photo, I don’t think you will have any idea on what is that. Is it a dessert with donkey meat? LOL. At first, I have no idea as well. But if you are referring to the Chinese name, then you will know. It’s translated directly from the Chinese name.
Donkey Roll is a traditional Beijing snack. It’s almost the same as the Muar Chee. The different is, each of them was filled with red bean paste and scattered with the peanut on top.
If you asked me how much we spent for the dinner, I am afraid I am not able to let you know. It was 4 months ago and the important reason is, I am not the one who pay the bill. My friend treated us. LOL.
Jiu Jiu Szechuan Restaurant is located at Juru Auto City. It’s on the second floor, above the Seoul Garden. The map and the contact information are taken from the Auto City website.

Reading this gave me something to think about for the rest of the afternoon, and after creekharbortradehall I had even more to mull over, the kind of post that lingers in the background of your day rather than evaporating immediately is genuinely valuable in an attention economy that punishes depth rather than rewarding it.
Adding to the bookmarks now before I forget, that is how good this is, and a look at lacehelm confirmed the rest of the site is worth saving too, this is one of those rare finds that justifies the time spent searching the web for once which is a relief in the current environment.
