Hot Wok (Nyonya & Local Cuisine) @ Penang Jalan Burma

I saw the email from CK 2 days before the review. Luckily, I made it. However, I am late due to the heavy jam and wrong location given by Steven. He told me the restaurant is opposite the Giant. Actually, it is just beside the Giant. Anyway, thanks for the entrance photo by Steven. I don’t have the chance to take it. I am too rush.

When I stepped into the dining hall, the table was already full of dishes: Hokkien Mee, Spring Rolls, Loh Bak, etc… You name it! This is the time when I need to start work: Take photos! I am using my friend’s camera. My camera was broken during the Te Chang You Tiao Wang review. I am not used to it, that is why most of the photos look blur.

We have a total of 11 main dishes plus 5 types of desserts. All dishes come in a very big portion, since we have so many people. However, we are not able to finish all of them!

Overall, the food was OK. For me, I like the Tau Eu Bak and Choon Pneah. Although the Tau Eu Bak is a bit salty, I like it. I just managed to get one piece of Choon Pneah on that day. Not bad. Pork Cincalok is too salty for my taste.

For dessert, I like the Sago Gula Melaka. The Gula Melaka was so sweet. It mixed well with the sago. I like it very much. It will be best if the Gula Melaka is not that sweet. However, the Mango Cendol has a weird taste. Although I like mango, the combination of mango and cendol is too weird. I cannot accept the taste. For those who like to try new stuff, you can try out this Mango Cendol. Who knows, maybe you will like it. Again, this is only my own preference.

The rest of the food are quite normal. Most of the Nyonya restaurant will serve the same dishes as well. If you are a fan of Nyonya food, try to step into the Hot Wok restaurant. You will get all the Nyonya food you want there.

Hot Wok restaurant is also having promotions. Below are the details:

  1. I think the colour saturation too much you can adjust it with photoshop and most of the photos are OOF(blur), you using DSLR or?
