Thanks to Mr Criz  and Imperial Court Restaurant for the invitation,  I have the chance to try out the Dim Sum and some A La Carte dishes.

Dim Sum
Imperial Dumpling Served with Shark’s Fin in Supreme Stock 鱼翅灌汤饺 – RM18 each. It is a big dumpling. If you are a small eater, you will definitely full or half full after eating the whole piece.

Maybe due to too much time taken on the photography, the skin of the dumpling has become dried and harden. However, it is still good for its fresh ingredients.

Some of the restaurant’s Siew Mai will have the pork smell if the pork used is not so fresh. It is not an issue for the Siew Mai from Imperial Court Restaurant.

This is yum yum!!

Wok Fried Radish Cake with Egg & XO Sauce – RM9/portion. *

A La Carte Dishes

The ribs are seasoned well but the meat is a bit hard to my liking. I prefer the meat to be softer and easily to tear it off from the bone. The restaurant will provide a pair of transparent plastic glove for you if you don’t want to get your hand dirty for eating the ribs.

The bean curd is homemade as the texture is not so smooth if compare to the Japanese tofu selling in the supermarket. But I like it because it tastes better and who doesn’t like homemade food, right?

Deep Fried Egg Plant with XO Chili Sauce 避风塘脆炸茄子 – RM18/portion*

For a person who doesn’t really eat egg plant (yes, I am talking about myself), this dish will make you eat and eat nonstop. Maybe it is because of the deep fried?

Stir Fry Mix Vegetables with Macadamia Nuts 佛钵夏果四宝蔬 – RM22/portion. *

The chef made an extra yam ring of us on the review day. For normal day, this dish is not served with the yam ring. I love to have it with the yam ring though, as the yam is soft to be eaten. The macadamia nuts are an add on. Love it.

This is definitely a dish for the congee and seafood lover. The congee is full of top notch ingredients such as king prawns, grouper fish fillets, meat crab and scallops. Slurp!

Dessert

Osmanthus Jelly 桂花糕 – RM2/pc. It is always good to have dessert after a meal. The texture of this Osmanthus Jelly is not like the normal jelly, it is more chewy. You will need to taste it yourself.

  1. Looking at the surface design and the substance together this site has both right, and a look at lacehelm reinforced that integrated quality, sites where presentation and content reinforce each other rather than fighting are sites with full editorial coherence and this one has clearly invested in both layers in a balanced way.

  2. Liked the way the post got out of its own way, and a stop at globebeat extended that invisible craft, the best writing you barely notice while reading because it is doing its work without drawing attention to itself and this site has clearly mastered that disappearing act across the pieces I have read.

  3. Great work on keeping things readable, the post never drags or repeats itself which I really appreciate, and a stop at onlinedealspoint added a bit more context that fit naturally with what was already said here, no need to read everything twice to get the point being made today.

  4. Appreciated that the writer trusted the reader to follow along without constant restating of earlier points, and a look at garnetharbortradinghouse continued that respect for the reader, treating an audience as capable adults rather than as people to be hand held through every paragraph is something I notice and value highly across the open internet today.

  5. A piece that left me thinking I had been undercaring about the topic, and a look at creekharbortradehall reinforced that mild concern, content that raises the appropriate weight of a subject without being preachy about it is doing important work and this site is providing that gentle elevation of attention for me consistently.

  7. Coming back tomorrow when I can give this a proper read, the post deserves better attention than I can give right now, and a look at ivoryridgemarketparlor suggests there is plenty more here that deserves the same treatment, definitely a site I will be exploring properly over the next few days when I can.

  8. Reading this gave me a small framework I expect to use going forward, and a stop at forestmeadowvendorroom extended that framework, content that produces transferable mental models rather than just specific facts is content with multiplicative value and this site is providing those models at a rate that justifies extra attention from me regularly.

  9. Now feeling slightly more optimistic about the state of independent writing online, and a stop at crystalcovecommerceatelier extended that quiet optimism, sites like this one are the reason I have not given up on the open web entirely and finding them occasionally renews the case for paying attention to non algorithmic content sources today.
